Bethany Grace knows firsthand the healing power of music, and is passionate about empowering others to find hope and healing through discovering their voice. In addition to running groups for people recovering from mental health problems, Bethany Grace Music also provides private lessons for individuals who may be experiencing or recovering from a mental health challenge. These lessons provide a safe space for the student to be heard, to be vulnerable, and to find healing whilst working on their singing ability. Please note that Bethany Grace is not a licensed therapist so these lessons should not be treated as an alternative to therapy. They are simply an opportunity for individuals to build and develop a skill in a safe space under the tutelage of someone who is mental health first aid trained and has recovered herself from a variety of mental health challenges.

In-Person Lessons vs Virtual Lessons
Due to both Covid and Bethany’s travel schedule, most lessons are currently being held virtually. Virtual lessons are a fantastic way to get top-quality singing tutelage from the comfort of your own home. Virtual lessons work much the same as in-person, and also have the added bonus of being more flexible.
For fully vaccinated students in the following areas, Bethany Grace can currently arrange in-person lessons:
Upstate South Carolina (Greenville / Clemson / Anderson area)
“The inexpressible depth of music, so easy to understand and yet so inexplicable, is due to the fact that it reproduces all the emotions of our innermost being, but entirely without reality and remote from its pain…Music expresses only the quintessence of life and of its events, never these themselves.”
— Oliver Sacks, Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain
